A closer look at our
Iron infusion service

Skincare and vitamins

Iron deficiency ranks as the most prevalent nutritional disorder globally, necessitating the occasional need for iron infusion. This treatment administers a liquid iron dose directly into the bloodstream via an IV drip, often preferred over iron injections for its effectiveness.

Procedure Overview:

At Effect Doctors, we are proud to offer our iron infusion service, designed to enhance your iron levels efficiently. Here’s what to expect:

During the Treatment:

Initially, a test dose is administered to monitor any adverse reactions. Following this, our medical professional inserts a small tube into a vein, usually in your arm or hand, using a very fine needle, a process known as cannulation. The iron solution, diluted with saline, is then slowly infused into your vein.

Treatment Experience:

Concerns about discomfort are common. However, the insertion of the IV needle is typically the only brief discomfort felt, with the entire process designed to be as painless as possible.

Duration and Frequency:

The infusion may take a few hours, ensuring a gradual and safe iron level increase. Depending on your specific needs, the entire treatment could extend over one or several sessions.

Why Opt for Iron Infusions?

Iron infusions are crucial for rapidly correcting severe iron deficiencies, especially for individuals who cannot tolerate oral iron supplements or have conditions that impair iron absorption. It’s a direct approach to replenish iron stores and enhance overall energy levels.

Preparing for Your Infusion:

Comfort and ease are our priorities. We recommend eating normally on the day of your infusion and wearing comfortable clothing. Our team provides comprehensive guidance to prepare you for the process, aiming for a stress-free experience.

Post-Infusion Care:

Following the infusion, patients can usually resume normal activities. Some may experience mild side effects, but most activities, including driving, are generally safe to continue.
